Using Essential Oils during a Super Blood Wolf Moon

During a lunar eclipse, the earth moves between the moon & sun. This prevents most of the sun’s light from reflecting onto the moon. The sun’s light is then refracted (or bent) by the earth’s atmosphere.

This causes the moon to appear red in colour- hence the name ” Blood Moon “

If you’re not aware, a lunar eclipse can be a pivotal time to receive blessings and/or lessons (in any form). The energy of a Blood Moon during a lunar eclipse is even more amplifying.

It is a time to connect with your emotions and let go of anything that might be limiting you from living your best life and being your best self.

Choosing your Oils

When deciding which oils to use during a lunar eclipse or full moon it is important to consider where you are at emotionally, physically and spiritually.

Scan your body from head to toe and bring awareness to any areas that need a little attention or TLC. ( eg anxiety, reaccuring headaches or stale energy )

Now is a great time to reflect, replenish and honor your journey

No matter where you’re at, the universe is guiding you. Let go of that which is no longer serving you or of service to you.

Old ideas, values, relationships – basically anything that bogs you down. Reflect on it and let it go. Allow yourself to embrace the change ahead and accept any new challenges that may arise.

The following are a few of the oils I use during the full moon or when releasing the old and welcoming the new.

Pick a few you are drawn to. I normally pick 3 to 5 different oils for a blend but please feel free to use whatever you are pulled towards or have on hand.

I have included a corresponding crystal to carry throughout the day to boost your oils energy even more!

Cardamom Oil (Elettaria cardamomum) – improves thought process, mental clarity, boosts the spirits, aligns with your surroundings, releases what no longer serves you and your highest good.

Corresponding Crystal: Citrine or Fluorite

Rose Oil (Rosa damascena) – radiates love and consciousness, compassion, focus, attention and self care, nurturing and offers joy and happiness.

Corresponding Crystal: Rose Quartz

Lavender Oil (Lavandula angustifolia) – used for channeling, cleansing stale energy, brings clarity and ends mental strain and chaos.

* Inhale Lavender while repeating any affirmations you may have going foward.

Corresponding Crystal: Amethyst or Clear Quartz

Patchouli Oil (Pogostemon cablin) – raises conciousness, grounding, become aware and in the present, strengthening, uplifting and can shift you out of a rut and into joy.

Corresponding Crystal: Green Tourmaline

Orange Oil (Citrus sinensis) – creates new pathways, intentions and self confidence, comforting and nurturing, allows you a clear mind to think and create

Corresponding Crystal: Carnelian or Green Aventurine

Frankincense (Boswellia carterii) – the ultimate oil for meditation and aligning yourself with inner peace and the highest good, compassion, clears the mind, aids in fear of change, letting go, agression, grief and panick attacks.

Corresponding Crystal: Amethyst

Palo Santo (Bursera graveloens) – purifies energy, releases jealousy and negativity, returns you to a center of balance, clears confusion and mental chatter.

Corresponding Crystal: Black Obsidian or Black Tourmaline

Peppermint Oil (Mentha piperita) – healing and rebalancing, stimulates mental clarity, holds the vibration to move forward, absorbs and processes energies, offers a clear outlook.

Corresponding Crystal: Apache Tears

Those are just a few of my favourites, there are definitely plenty of other ones you could choose from. Use whatever you are drawn to that you have at home.

How to use them:

There are many ways you can use your chosen oils today. Which ever ones you pick be sure to use them with intent. (to release and replenish)

Diffusing: add 5-15 drops total into your diffuser (follow your diffusers intructions) release any negative ideas and rebalance your thinking, enjoy the aroma and repeat your goals in your mind or out loud. Diffusing should be done in intervals 60 min on 60 min off.

Bathing or Shower: 10 to 15 drops of oil total into 1 cup of epsom salts and 1 tsp of coconut oil (or other carrier oil) add to warm bath and soak 20 min. Or place your desired drops onto a cloth and place somewhere in the shower allowing the steam to help activate and release. ( Note: Do not use the cloth on your body without a carrier or dispersant added. ) Reflect on that which is no longer serving you and let it go. Visualize white light entering the top of your head, filling you back up with love and light.

Full Moon Rituals: there are many different ways to perform a full or new moon ritual. (Some are very long, some short) Do whatever works best for you.

First I cleanse my aura and bathroom with Indigo Essentials Aura Cleanser. Then I make my Bath Blend (see Bathing above) with intent and light a candle. I soak in the bath as long as needed and when I am done, as the water is draining I visualize the negativity, stale energy and all that no longer serves me draining away. Making room for love and light to return.

Some people will also write out what they want to let go on paper, then soak them away in water or light the paper on fire. As long as what you are doing is for the greatest and highest good of yourself and others, there is really no right or wrong way to do this.

Journaling: add a drop or 2 of your chosen oil to your journal pages while you reflect, write and release.

Those are just a few of the ways you could use your oils today/tonight during the Super Blood Wolf Moon Eclipse.

No matter what essential oils you use today or how you use them, the main goal is to use them with intent.

Will you be using your oils today/tonight during the eclipse? Let me know in the comments.

As above, so below
